Growing California Kush Autoflower Strain

The growing of this marijuana strain, California Kush Auto, is quite simple and yet gives a high-quality buds.

It is a well-known example of ease of cultivation, but it is important to be careful with watering, if your purpose is to have the so-called “fir tree shape”, with lower branches full of needles and a well-developed leading tip.

This plant should be well-fed during both the vegetative phase and the flowering period. This guarantees the creation of big and dense buds that are covered with a lovely resin coat, providing a pleasant mix of flavors and smells of the classic strains with Kush notes.

Grown indoors, California Kush marijuana is one of those strains that can produce some impressive yields of 450-550g/m2 in less than 70 days from germination. Outdoors, yields ranging from 45 to 75g per plant are possible and the plants are no more than 4-5 ft in height. This variety can be grown from April to November, giving a lot of space for growth and development

How to Germinate Your California Kush Autoflower Cannabis Seeds

PLEASE follow these 3 simple steps for best results:

1) Empty your California Kush cannabis seed from the capsule you received in a cup of purified room-temperature water. Don’t worry if it sinks or floats.

2) Place the container in a dark warm place (like a kitchen cabinet) for 6-24 hours, but no longer! You do NOT want a long and very delicate tap root to be growing at this stage- you just want to soften the shell.

3) After 6-24 hours- gently scoop out the seed with a spoon and place/cover in 1/2” deep in good potting soil or preferably in a soaked Jiffy pellet/peat pellet (buy Jiffy pellets from Amazon or local hardware/garden store).

* Keep the soil/pellet moist (not soaked) and warm under your grow lights – No Fertilizer!

* This strains seedlings should sprout within 4-12 days – BE PATIENT

* Please take a hit of that bong and enjoy the ride!

Side Note: Some suggest germinating cannabis seeds using a wet paper towel on a plate/tweezer method. We find that this method is not the best for cannabis seeds because paper towels dry out quickly and getting the germinating seeds out of the paper towel can be clumsy damaging the seedling. Using tweezers can be dangerous as soaked seeds are much more fragile.
