About Trainwreck Strain
Trainwreck is one of the oldest strains of cannabis to date, it was created by crossing Mexican and Thai Sativas with Afghani Indica. This strain is predominantly sativa, as it produces a feeling of happiness in addition to the pain relief. It has a unique taste that I would describe as a sweet lemon with a hint of spicy pinelike aftertaste.
Being one of the most famous strains from Northern California that has been cultivated in the Californian hills for several years and is highly appreciated for its quality and performance.
Trainwreck is an interesting strain and it has a rather legendary background to it all. It is reported that the rebellious Cannabis cultivators in the 1970 though that they had named it after a train accident near the Northern California grow site which prompted them to move their plants quickly to avoid being discovered.
Although the authenticity of this story may be in doubt, what has been confirmed beyond doubt is that Trainwreck is a Sativa dominant hybrid strain that originated from a three-way cross of Mexican Sativa, Thai Sativa and Afghani Indica. This blend gives rise to a highly potent sativa dominant strain that has strong indica like characteristics hence the name; it is an instant favorite among marijuana lovers who are in search of a quick and strong high.
Effects of Trainwreck Feminized
Trainwreck Feminized is a balanced hybrid strain with high sativa content acting at 70% and a lower indica content at 30% giving users a high euphoric and relaxing effect. The majority usually describe smoking this strain as a happy, uplifting, and relieving feeling accompanied by energy boost that does not tire them out.
In sum, Trainwreck can be seen as a bewilderment of pleasant emotions and thought processes propelling creativity and happiness.
For those who are new to smoking, it is crucial to approach the Trainwreck strain with precaution. Similar to precautions that should be taken when using Kratom, one ought to start gradually because the herb is highly powerful and can cause confusion when used in large amounts.
However, you should know that you will experience several mild effects such as dryness in the eye and throat. Nonetheless, Trainwreck is still widely in demand and is an extraordinary stimulating cannabis strain.
Smell and Taste of Trainwreck Feminized
Trainwreck Feminized is popular for its sticky, damp feel. The resin glistens as you touch the buds. It is strong enough to fill the air of a house with the smell of cedar and pine trees. Hidden under a sugary note with a touch of heat, there will be a lemony tone.
When smoked, it has a very smooth taste like the taste of pinecones and a zesty lemon flavor. The aftertaste is not so subtle, and as you continue to savor the taste, it takes on more of an earthy quality. The effects of Trainwreck are long-term. Its spiciness can be felt on the lips and on the tongue, making it even more irresistible to continue consuming.
Growing Trainwreck Strain
Trainwreck seeds can be recommended for any skill level because these seeds yield strong plants with a robust root structure and sturdy stems. Most of these plants are not very selective and, while some species can grow up to 7 feet tall, many are shrubs. Trainwreck plants also spread out as they grow to become wide plants and will need to be pruned to ensure they do not occupy large spaces.
It is advisable to prune them frequently – plants indoors are capable of yielding up to 18 oz per square meter. It has a flowering time of between eight to ten weeks and is best grown indoors because the conditions can be controlled.
However, growing Trainwreck outside may be a little challenging at some times, but the outcome is rewarding. If you decide to cultivate your marijuana outdoors, you can be expecting to receive a much larger yield of roughly 25 ounces per plant. It may be important to recall that Trainwreck is a late flowering plant, so it should be harvested by the end of October or early November.
While growing your Trainwreck plants, you should ensure that you trim the plants in the right manner to enhance the bud formation. If this task is not done well then, the plants may get very tall and thick stems with poor quality buds. Also, in the case where the plants are not pruned often there could be overgrowth of the plant and crowding of the other plants. This can lead to the lower branches and buds being subjected to low light quality and nutrient availability and also being in a position where they are buried alive by humidity.
How to Germinate Your Trainwreck Feminized Seeds
PLEASE follow these 3 simple steps for best results:Â
1) Empty your Trainwreck Feminized cannabis seed from the capsule you received in a cup of purified room-temperature water. Don’t worry if it sinks or floats.
2) Place the container in a dark warm place (like a kitchen cabinet) for 24-48 hours, but no longer! You do NOT want a long and very delicate tap root to be growing at this stage-
3) After the 24-48 hours- gently scoop out the seed with a spoon and place/cover in 1/2” deep in good potting soil or preferably in a soaked Jiffy pellet/peat pellet (buy Jiffy pellets from Amazon or local hardware/garden store).
*Â Keep the soil/pellet moist (not soaked) and warm under your grow lights
* Trainwreck seeds should sprout within 3-10 daysÂ
*After the little seedling has grown to around 3″ tall- transfer him to his new home and enjoy the ride!*
Side Note: Some suggest germinating cannabis seeds using a wet paper towel on a plate/tweezer method. We find that this method is not the best for cannabis seeds because paper towels dry out quickly and getting the germinating seeds out of the paper towel can be clumsy damaging the seedling. Using tweezers can be dangerous as soaked seeds are much more fragile. We like to play it safe and germinate cannabis seeds using purified water and jiffy pellets which are specifically designed to easily germinate seeds.
